This webinar summarizes key components highlighted during the in-person presentation of this course. The ability to recognize when an organization is functioning from a performative versus progressive action planning standpoint was emphasized. In an effort to continue to strengthen a shared language of understanding among staff, key DEIB definitions were communicated throughout the course of training. More specifically, microaggressions and the associated types were discussed. Through film review and analysis along with a social experiment, “Crush“, we uncover how microaggressions can negatively impact the psychological well-being of individuals on the receiving end.
